Rules of Investment Challenge 100
Rules:-
- Only registered schools/colleges can participate
- There are two leagues; one for teams of students, one for staff/governors/parents.
- All teams must have a minimum of three team members
- Team names must not be offensive, must not exceed 24 characters and cannot contain spaces or colons. Unsuitable names will be disallowed. Teams will receive confirmation of their approved team names and passwords
- A person may only participate in one team and membership cannot be changed once registered
- Each team has a notional £20,000 to invest in the FTSE 100 companies
- All investment activity is through www.ic100.co.uk
- Monthly prizes are awarded to student teams
- In April 2009, the final presentation ceremony will be held. The awards will include a £250 prize to the best perfoming student team.
Registration:-
- There is an entry fee of £125. This will allow each school/college to enter up to 5 teams. An extra £10 is payable for each additional team
- Application dead line is Friday 12th September 2008. Upon receipt of the entry fee a username and password will be allocated and emailed to the designated contact
- Individual teams will then be able to register through www.ic100.co.uk
- Team registration will be confirmed by e-mail to the team contact. Notification of team details will be sent to the designated school contact
- Team registration is by Friday 26th September 2008.
- Passwords must be 8 characters or less, in lower case, and must not contain colons or spaces
Trading:-
- Trading commences on Wednesday 1st October 2008 with final trading on 31st March 2009.
- Teams must have commenced trading by 7th October 2008
- The procedures for trading are given on the website. These should be printed off for reference before your first trade
- Teams are encouraged to actively trade and manage their portfolio and can only hold a maximum £2,000 in cash
- Stock market prices shown are updated every 20 minutes throughout the day
- All trading must be carried out in line with the guidelines and teams trying to beat the system will be disqualified
- The league table updates automatically
- Emails will be sent reminding the teams of significant changes on the stock market
